Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), the world’s busiest origin and destination airport, chose Otis Elevator Company to create 88 energy-efficient elevators, escalators and moving walkways.
Michael Doucette, Chief Airport Planner at Los Angeles International Airport commented “Getting passengers safely and quickly to their boarding gates and baggage claim areas via energy-efficient, reliable elevators and walkways will be an integral part of the world-class facility being built for the future enjoyment of the traveling public.”
Otis Elevator Company, part of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), was chosen for the Bradley West project at LAX, a modernization effort at the Tom Bradley International Terminal which served more than 8.6 million international travelers last year. The Bradley West project is scheduled for completion by December 2012 and Otis will maintain the new units for five years.
United Technologies Corp. is currently trading 1.06 percent lower at $72.50.
